CHINT empower the Hunutlu power plant in Turkey

With the advantages of product technology and price competition, CHINT's brand awareness in Turkey has been constantly improved. In the Hunutlu power plant this year, the largest project invested by China, CHINT provided on-site temporary distribution cabinet products and completed the business upgrade from single component product sales to low-voltage cabinet solution. Taking low-voltage cabinet products as the breakthrough, the project successfully helped CHINT products enter the list of suppliers of the project of Hunutlu power plant, which laid a solid foundation for CHINT to promote other industrial chains in the project.

The Hunutlu power plant project is a key link between China's "Belt and Road" Initiative and Turkey's "middle corridor" plan. With a total investment of about $1.7bn, it is the largest project invested by a Chinese company in Turkey this year, jointly developing and constructing by Shanghai Electric Power, subsidiary of State Power Investment Corporation Limited (SPIC), AVIC INTL and Turkish local shareholders.

The project, signed by President Xi during his visit to Turkey in June 2019, was officially launched in Adana Province in southern Turkey on September 22, 2019. It plans to build two 660MW ultra-supercritical generating units with a planned total installed capacity of 1,320MW. When into operation, it will be able to supply 9bn KWH of electricity annually.
