From the unending Qiantang River to the quiet and beautiful Mekong River, enterprises from Zhejiang Province have welcomed new opportunities for development in Cambodia and injected new vitality into the economic and social development of Cambodia by joining hands to build the Belt and Road.
On November 24-26, H.E. Keo Rottanak, Minister attached to the Prime Minister and Managing Director of Electricite du Cambodge (EDC) leaded one delegation to CHINT. They visited the industrial park in Hangzhou and PV manufacturing base in Haining of CHINT Solar/Astronengy, CHINT Xinhua Control Technology Group, as well as Songjiang industrial park of CHINT T&D. Mr. Keo Rottanak and the delegation were warmly welcomed by Gao Xingfu, vice governor of Zhejiang Province, Nan Cunhui, chairman of CHINT Group, Xu Zhiwu, VP of CHINT Group and Lu Chuan, president of CHINT Solar/Astronengy on December 25.
Chairman Nan extended a warm welcome to Mr. Keo Rottanak. Under the guidance of the Belt and Road, the cooperation between China and Cambodian enterprises has become closer. The successful operation of CHINT's projects in Cambodia cannot be separated from the long-term support and help from EDC. Based on the successful cooperation in the past, CHINT is willing to further expand its investment in the power sector in Cambodia, deepen cooperation with EDC, and contribute to the economic and social development of Cambodia.
Mr. Keo Rottanak spoke highly of CHINT's One Cloud & Two Nets strategy. 'It's amazing how much we've changed,' he said. It's admirable of the depth of scientific and technological R&D, the breadth of business expansion and the professional degree of the majority of CHINT people. For 35 years, CHINT has been sticking to its main business and making continuous innovation. What CHINT has done is not only paving the way for the development of the enterprise, but also making positive contributions to the whole industry. CHINT is expected to contribute more to construction of power grid system in Cambodia.
CHINT is a vivid epitome of China-Cambodia cooperation. Located in Koh Kong, the Tatay hydropower station has been invested and constructed by CHINT. After its operation, it has solved the electricity problem of many small and medium-sized cities, especially rural households, which not only promoted the local economic and social development, but also energy cooperation between China and Cambodia. It is worth mentioning that all the electrical equipment of the hydropower station is made by CHINT.
In 2015, Chairman Nam was awarded a medal by the King Sihamoni and the Prime Minister Hun Sen. In 2017, CHINT once again won the order for the GS-5 & GS-SHV substation expansion project of the power board of Cambodia, providing 24kV medium-voltage switchgear, circuit breaker and other equipment for the project to help smooth operation of the power grid in Cambodia.
